Future proofing your Farm - Soil Health and Water in the Landscape Event Series
The events also feature the screening of new Australian short documentary Thankful for Soil, an inspiring film celebrating the story of Australian farmers who are using the soil beneath their feet to combat climate change and build a brighter future for their family farms.
The film produced by Nviro Media in partnership with Thankful 4 Farmers features passionate farmers who shared their soil story including, Graham Finlayson Bokhara Plains, Dave and Alice Woods Coorangy, Rhonda Daly Bill Daly Milgadara, Matthew Evans Fat Pig Farm.
Thankful for Soil Filmmaker Suzannah Cowley will host a Q&A with farmers after the event screenings.
Also attending the events will be Regional Soil Co-ordinator Cameron Leckie who is part the National Soil Action Plan and has identified key areas to support soil health outcomes in agriculture.
The Future Proofing your Farm events will be held from 12 - 15 August 2024 in Gunnedah, Quirindi and Tamworth to support farmers to come together with soil and water experts to discuss topics including:
Schedule of Speakers include experts in on-farm soil health, cover cropping and regenerative farming and local farmers from across the region sharing their stories of building soil health and biodiversity into their farming systems.

Water in the Landscape Initiative (WILI) is a local project lead by UNE and community groups collaborating to better manage water in our local landscapes to future proof farms and communities against drought and floods and to provide education about how to create better water outcomes for all communities.
